Jessie Tice Jessie Tice (Apr 09 2015 4:51PM) : Pig Kahuna more

After reading this book, I really enjoyed how the two brothers treated the surfboard as if it were alive. I think there are a lot of kids who could relate to a story like this because many like to use their imagination. This page stood out to me because I like the way that the author referred to the surfboard as “Dave” rising up beneath him. If you read this page without continuing, you may think that the author is trying to make it seem like “Dave” is really coming to life instead of it just being a wave rising!

Amanda Walsh Amanda Walsh (Apr 14 2015 5:18PM) : I really enjoyed the illustration you picked. You can tell the pig loves the surfboard by the way he is attached to it. I also think it is funny that the author gave the surfboard a name like Dave. I think the name helps bring it to life.

I totally agree with you! I think back to when I was little and I would name all my stuffed animals because it gave them their own personality.
