Group 6: Bali

Indonesia, which is the largest archipelago in the world, consists of 18,108 islands. It has five big islands, and other 30 smaller groups which spread along the equator, which gave Indonesia a tropical climate throughout the year. The most populated and largest islands are Sumatra and Java. The other islands which are also as important and famous as Sumatra and Java are Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Irian Jaya. The capital city of Indonesia is in Java, Jakarta, which is about the same size as Singapore (Jakarta = 750.28 km2 and Singapore = 707.1 km2). Indonesia is a beautiful country with a diverse culture and rich history. It is home to numerous beautiful travel destinations that attract tourists from all over the world. The best travel destination in Indonesia is (Bali)

First, Bali is a mainstay tourist destination in Indonesia which is very famous in the world. This is because Bali has a variety of beautiful natural attractions. Bali is also known as the island of the Gods, Pulau Seribu Pura, or island of paradise. Bali is also famous for their beaches. Places that are frequently visited are the beaches of Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Tanah Lot, Canggu, Nusa Lembongan, Ubud, and Nusa Dua, which become the main destination for beach tourism.

Second, most of the Balinese are followers of Hinduism. Other religions are Buddhism, Islam, Protestantism, and Catholicism. The Balinese people who adhere to the devout Balinese Hindu religion live their life dedicated to traditional ceremonies that aim to maintain harmony in the world. Besides being famous for its natural beauty and attractions, Bali is also famous for its cultural tourism. Music, dance, and Balinese traditional ceremonies or rituals are the main attractions of tourists visiting the island of Bali. This further adds to the wealth of tourism in Bali and strengthens the international tourism destination.

Bali is also famous for its dances. The dances which are very popular for tourists to foreign countries are the Kecak dance, Pendet dance, and the Barong dance. Around the 1930s, Wayan Limbak worked with German painter, Walter Spies, to create the Kecak dance based on the Sang Hyang tradition and parts of the Ramayana story. Wayan Limbak popularized this dance while traveling the world with his troupe of Balinese dancers.

Third, there are many choices of food on this island. People can basically find a lot of different kinds of food, such as international cuisine to traditional Balinese cuisine, or even other Indonesian regional dishes, they are scattered in every corner of the island of Bali. Balinese foods that are quite famous are called Betutu chicken or duck, roasted pork, Lawar, Sate Lilit.

In conclusion, Bali is the best destination in Indonesia because there are so many beautiful tours and culture that can attract a lot of people, from locals to international tourists.
