Wondering if both words could stand out using the same color (black or red or whatever) so viewer’s eye links them together as a 2-word phrase.

Them dancing together would be a step in the direction of dynamism, but even then a logo of 2 people dancing would make me think more like a dance concert/exhibition, something I might go to to watch a folk danc performancee… it doesn’t communicate to me that there will be lots of people dancing and I could be one of them!

Flower is pretty big, my eye is drawn to it (secondarily, black male costume dominates) but as-is I don’t think contributes much to the overall effect.

1. Size - Presumably it will usually be pretty small (e.g. in ads, graphics, etc.)… I’m guessing more than 1-2 figures might be too much for the space we’ll want to devote to the logo. 3. What emotion/feeling do we want it to convey (most important!?) — last year Maria and I went for fiesta fun (super colorful, emphasized dance and food and music).

4. What demographic do we want to appeal to? I figured we could already largely count on middle-aged and older Latinos who have been attending for years, I felt (and still feel) that to maximize the funds we can raise we want to also strongly appeal to younger non-Latinos… hence the fun food dancing emphasis. I think logo should dovetail with whatever (hopefully this! :→) emotion/feeling is chosen.

It’s also the top one that people will see first, so I think we want that petal to be the strongest, most evocative of whatever our main theme is (e.g. last year was party, with lots of music and dancing).

If we ever stop using Ting, we could swap out just that one petal image.

And maybe even could leave it in in that case, Ting and the Downtown Mall suggest Charlottesville as much as any other building or scene!?

I like the general abstract feel of the drawing a lot, could be the style we decide to go with, but I think the graphic as a whole would benefit from having active people pictured.

“…But personally I really like the original logo, as the Dancers in the center are not country specific and it includes all of the Latin American flags around it. It’s easy to pop in a social or put on a hat or shirt. You could always use the same idea and change the font in the center. I think it’s important for the logo to be inclusive of all the countries of Latin America and not to busy. Our original logo was created by chicho Lorenzo and the flags circling it was an idea edit by hector zamora.

If the team is committed to changing it. I would suggest not having clothing that resembles a mariachi or stuff that is clearly country specific. If these are the two choices, between the two my choice would be the four leaf flower design. But personally would appreciate it staying the same."
