What life has taught me
I would like to share with
Those who want to learn
Until the philosophy which hold one race
Superior and another inferior
Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned
Everywhere is war, me say war
That until there are no longer first class
And second class citizens of any nation
Until the color of a man's skin
Is of no more significance than the color of his eyes
Me say war
That until the basic human rights are equally
Guaranteed to all, without regard to race
Dis a war
That until that day
The dream of lasting peace, world citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion
To be persued, but never attained
Now everywhere is war, war
And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes
That hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique
South Africa sub-human bondage
Have been toppled, utterly destroyed
Well, everywhere is war, me say war
War in the east, war in the west
War up north, war down south
War, war, rumors of war
And until that day, the African continent
Will not know peace, we Africans will fight
We find it necessary and we know we shall win
As we are confident in the victory
Of good over evil, good over evil, good over evil
Good over evil, good over evil, good over evil

There is never going to be equality because there is always a person who has more power than others for example a governor and a normal citizen are probably never going be treated the same no matter what their skin color is.Also a female and a male are never going to get equal rights since society has created false ideas that females are less.

Marley must be directing his lyrics here to the fact that nothing will matter in war until justice is served. You can’t have peace without war, no rainbow without rain.

Throughout his whole poem he talks about how there will be war until every person isn’t judged based off of how they look. Until the person they are is accepted and their physical characteristics do not matter. That is when there will be no more war.

Bob Marley here is expressing his feeling towards the idea of a world where you can go anywhere you would like without having to worry about hate and danger. How it’s something that we say we should pursue but we know that it will never happen.

He is reminding that there will be no peace in reality until that day when “We Africans will fight”. when he is saying Africans, he applies that to everyone as ethos because the fact that Africa is the birth place of humanity, i assume that he is calling out everyone because we are all one.
