To chalk this field the first thing you would do is drag a string to the middle of the field through the center of where both of the goals will be. We know that the length of the field is 240 feet, and we can find three points the base lines and the center.

To mark out one half of the field you attach the ends of two tape measures to the ground, one tape at one goal and the other tape at the center of the field.

Your goal is to connect them which gives you a corner and a right angle at the goal so the baseline isn’t tilted.

Use the numbers from the soccer calculator. (See next image.) Pull the two tapes to the lengths given so that you will end up with a right angle.

I’m not sure how they get this number, but it has to do with adding half of the base line with half of the center line.

When you drag a 75 foot tape measure from the goal to the corner and a 141.5 foot tape measure from the center to the corner, you make the meet, and you have a right angle at the center of the goal.

These lines are measured in centimeters and the scale is 1 centimeter on the drawing is equal to 10 yards (or 30 feet) in real life.

start you one at the center, and drag it 3.73 centimeters which is equal to 37.3 yards (or 112 feet) in real life. This tape measure has meet another one that comes from the center of the goal.
