Just say it out loud. I did and a shiver ran down my spine. Of course, this has nothing to do with the current Great Perturbation. There are no paramilitaries. No Sturmabteilung. Right? Right.

all cogs in the Nazi machinery, proof positive of the ultimate strength and weakness of hiearchy. It doesn’t matter who runs the hierarchy, it it is large enough it will almost always have psychos at the top, sociopaths in the middle, and losers at the bottom.

I write this on Thanksgiving morning. Not really a time for anxious frettery, is it? Yes. Now and every moment from now on is the time form the ragged attentiveness we need. For example, when someone says alt-right, I say Nazi. Authorianism of any stripe cannot be dealt with as if it was a reasonable creature, a dude at a bar with a beer. They are Nazi’s. They will be the Sturmabteilung. Believe it.
