The reason why I agree is that its cool because the prediction he thought was going to come out did actually recently came out in the past couple of years.
Abby Montague(Mar 09 2017 8:16AM):
I thought it was odd that Ray thought that cell phones would be on your wrist. We do have some that are like the (like the Apple Watch) but it's technically not a phone. Ray was kinda right and kinda wrong.
Emily Duffey(Mar 09 2017 8:17AM):
This sentence is interesting because, it makes the "Virtual Reality Room" seem very vivid in my mind. When the author adds the sound effects it makes the story even more interesting.

“The walls began to purr and recede into the crystalline distance…” (Bradbury 1)
Marina Phillips(Mar 09 2017 8:18AM):
I'm really surprised that he came up with these 10 years before they actually came out. I almost wonder if they used his ideas when inventing new products.
Abby Montague(Mar 09 2017 8:19AM):
I was also surprised about the Sea Shell Radios. It's kinda confusing to me how they would work... like would they be bluetooth to something? Would they use satellite? How would they play music? They kinda remind me of Apple Air Pods.
Jasmine Rios(Mar 09 2017 8:21AM):
This is so interesting to think that an almost every day flat screen TV was just a part of his imagination then it became a reality some time later. It keeps me thinking that all of these futuristic books some of these ideas can be made reality
Megan Klimkowski(Mar 09 2017 8:23AM):
I have a feeling that the figurative language in this part of the story has helped me understand more of what the virtual reality room is about.

I wonder how the idea of this virtual reality room came to Ray Bradbury’s mind. The explanation of the room transferring from two dimensional to three dimensional. It’s kind of frightening to read about what someone thought our lifetime could be like and what could even happen in the next couple of years.
Abby Montague(Mar 09 2017 8:23AM):
I thought that it was interesting that Ray thought that video cameras were on helicopters. That would be cool but also dangerous because there would be so many of them and if people flew in planes too they would see eachother and could get in a crash...
Lyndsay Crowley(Mar 09 2017 8:24AM):
I think this is a really cool concept.
more
I think that it is so cool that Bradbury had created this concept so long ago, and in a fictional story! The description of the fictional VR room, and real VR rooms today, are uncanny! A blank room turning into Africa?! How cool is that?! Well, you may have to wear a headset these days, but it’s still super cool! This overall “future” thing moderately reminds me of The Simpsons for some reason?? Maybe because episodes some times predict the future ((President Trump)) haha.
Bryce Doerflein(Mar 09 2017 8:25AM):
I am very surprised that he thought of a television on a wall during the 1950's and it still took people 40+ years to make a flat screen television.
Abby Montague(Mar 09 2017 8:27AM):
The virtual home reminds me about the movie Parental Guidence because the dad in the movie created a virtual home that can make breakfast, recognize your face, and even play music.
The fact that lots of his predictions from 1950’s kind of did happen is so cool. All of his guess’s were actually really close for example the seashell radios and wrist radio is like a lot of apple’s technology that today a lot of people own and use daily.
Cole Garvin(Mar 09 2017 8:30AM):
Rays prediction
more
His prediction was close because today helicopters have cameras on the front and the thing that came out was survallience cameras and basicly every where uses them.
Megan Klimkowski(Mar 09 2017 8:32AM):
I was really surprised that Ray Bradbury thought that something like an automated home would be something that people have in the future (the future to this idea is now) and that it actually has happened!
more
I thought that it was really odd thinking that someone had a thought and wrote about it and then with time many people saw this thought and made it happen in the end. This is a lot like the google homes that literally turn your lights on for you and so much more! Overall, I just feel that it is so weird and interesting to think about all the things that people could be writing about now that could help us change what the world will be like.
