Ray Bradbury can not have predicted this the other things are normal futuristic ideas but a 24-7 bank.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Jenna Sandlin Jenna Sandlin (Mar 09 2017 10:38AM) : It's strange more

It’s strange to thing that certain objects/appliances that are normal to us now were such a strange thing to think of back when these stories were written.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Darby Thurston Darby Thurston (Mar 09 2017 10:38AM) : "Seashells" more

The names this author gave devices are kind of funny when you actually have a name for them. I wouldn’t ever think of earbuds as seashells, but Bradbury did.

profile_photo
Mar 9
William McDulin William McDulin (Mar 09 2017 10:38AM) : I like how they use the term Wall-TV while a lot people now would consider normal. Because there was not a flat screen TV when this was written he had to use the term Wall TV as if it were unusual.
profile_photo
Mar 9
Elena Dubuc Elena Dubuc (Mar 09 2017 10:39AM) : I wonder more

I wonder what everyday life would be like without earbuds. So many people use them every single day.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Chris Dowling Chris Dowling (Mar 09 2017 10:39AM) : What is a virtual reality room. Is it like the phone you put over your eyes.
profile_photo

profile_photo
Mar 9
Avery Kniskern Avery Kniskern (Mar 09 2017 10:40AM) : It says that the story that went with this prediction is "The Murderer" and I wonder if Ray Bradbury had everyone wearing wrist radios in the story or just one specific person?
profile_photo
Mar 9
Avery Kniskern Avery Kniskern (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : I didn't think that cell phones were made this early in time.
profile_photo
Mar 9
William McDulin William McDulin (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : The name Seashell Radio had to be used as there was nothing else to compare it to which I think is hilarious.
profile_photo
Mar 9

profile_photo
Mar 9
Lydia Dunkle Lydia Dunkle (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : That is weird. [Edited] more

That is very weird how the home keeps caring for itself after the owners have been killed. It does sound really interesting though, a home caring for itself.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Claire Wiley Claire Wiley (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : It took a while to make the electronic surveillance after the idea was thought of.
profile_photo
Mar 9
Darby Thurston Darby Thurston (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : I wonder more

I wonder if we will have humanoid robots as tellers someday instead of people and automated ones.

profile_photo

profile_photo
Mar 9
Madi Almond Madi Almond (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : It's like Bradbury could read the future because around 1950 Bradbury came up with the wall TV. Then in 1977 the large flat screen TV came out which is the exact same thing.
profile_photo
Mar 9
Elena Dubuc Elena Dubuc (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : I wonder more

I wonder how many more crimes would happen today if we didn’t have surveillance cameras.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Dameon Coates Dameon Coates (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : Automatic Teller Machines more

I wonder if these could advance so that you could see who is talking to you

profile_photo
Mar 9
kylie shouse kylie shouse (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : earbuds more

That’s crazy that something little like that became such a small thing that so many people use today

profile_photo
Mar 9
Jenna Sandlin Jenna Sandlin (Mar 09 2017 10:41AM) : I notice more

I notice that some of these inventions were far apart from when Ray Bradbury put them in his stories to when they were actually invented. For example the virtual reality room has many years separating when it was invented vs when it was in the story but the seashell radios and the earbuds were really close.

profile_photo
Mar 9
Ella Wisner Ella Wisner (Mar 09 2017 10:42AM) : I think the idea of an Automated Home is a great idea because it is more efficient in the world we live in today. For example, if you go on vacation you could control your homes settings without being home.

Andrea Mier y Teran Andrea Mier y Teran (Mar 09 2017 10:43AM) : I wonder if anyone got ideas tom make these things from the stories he made. Like did people get the idea to make a large flat-screen TV from his story.

I wonder if the people reading his stories really thought that these things could and would become real items that people use almost every day.

Maddie Phillips Maddie Phillips (Mar 09 2017 10:46AM) : I don't think the smart home concept is really comparable to a system that can care for its owner. There may be systems that can do this one day, but right now the concept of a smart home is not far enough along to be mentioned in this way.
