Dropping In, Dropping Out from Educational Video Center on Vimeo.
i stopped here because i’m in an alternative school my self , and i strive everyday to get where i’m going just like these students in the video
is very connecting to what we say and how we feel. its very like my 3rd school very few of the teachers barely understood us , didnt care . while Pulse does
i stopped at this point of the in the video because its similar to what many young people face in out world today. This connects to a lot of people i know because whenever they’re asked why they came to the school. its mostly the same reasons which are ‘’ my other school was trash’‘, ’’they didn’t care about how i was doing in my classes’’ etc etc. i can also connect this to things that i seen like students leaving class because they don’t get the help that they ask for.
people believe once we in a alternative school we go down one level or so well that’s not the case everyone makes mistakes and messing up in high school was 1 of our mistakes and most of learned from it by getting back on track and actually being able to trust our counselor , teachers and staff so i understands where each of the students are coming from and i am glad i can listen to what the students outcome were
i stop here because i have felt like that before, and not even my self but most students who lives in low cities , that have low education feels like that. i connect to this alot
Also i can say the same thing happened to me, well not exactly the same but similar anyways when i was a new student at my old school, everybody was just staring like they’ve never seen a human being before. I was just sitting there feeling mad unconfortable.
i hear Some of the kids where having troubles at their old and some of them wasn’t really focused on what their future holds.
Some were at the stage of dropping out of school because of the problems they were having at school.
This Connects To Me Because When I Attended Evander, I Also Wanted To Move From The Negativity & Get My Life & Credits Together. Its Important To Me Because I Feel Like He Had Other Opportunity Other Than Dropping Out
the minute i came to pulse i felt a difference i felt a atmosphere where everyone wanted to graduate it really wasn’t any drama or none of the other non sense usual schools have
i stopped here because alot of what this kids are saying i hear everyday from people in my school.this matters because it shows how similar we all are.
we all wanted better and our old high schools weren’t providing us with that
I feel that generally alternative high schools are great because they allow for students to have a second chance even though all they are told is that they will fail in this system. Alternative high schools provide people with a second chance which give people the confidence and help they need. This connects to me because in high school I was extremely close to dropping out but found out about alternative high schools which motivated me again and got me determined to put in the extra amount of work necessary for my diploma
I stopped here because these teens are talking about the similar reasons these teens felt like being a drop out of high school.
It connects to me because most of the time i feel like dropping out or just giving up.
It connects to my old ex friends most of them were just drop outs and started following in the footsteps of others.
they was talking about the fact they felt like they just couldnt do school amymore by dropping out. and i remember when i felt that way
I feel like students in the school shouldn’t worry about nobody and focus on their education like try to graduate and getting yourself into troubles.
this is whats going on all through highschools still till this day people are still facing these issues i faced some of these issues myself so i can relate
This Connects To Me Because I Also Believed That None Of The Teachers In My Old School Cared. I Had A Bad Relationship With Multiple Of My Teachers
some of the kids in the school were lost at their school because of the way the were being treated by other teachers and students.
i stopped here because i can relate to this female speaking in the video in my old school i felt like everyone was against me i was just lost and didnt really understand
i can relate to not having anyone to talk to or to go to with my problems im having in school and i could also relate to teachers putting you down and not really caring about your feelings
I stopped here because i can relate to these teens at the moment and back then in my old school i feel like these teachers have a nasty attitude and i just feel lost.
It connects to many teens including my cousin she feels the same way. She feels like teachers don’t really help and just always have this attitude and favoritism.
I have seen many teens say the same thing so it connects in many ways.
i stopped here because its important to know what are the real reasons why kids are dropped out. this matters because if we know why then we can change it so there isnt so many kids dropping out. the main reason kids are dropping out is because the teachers, they feel that teachers and staff don’t do their job right. this connects to me because i remember feeling that exact same way in my old school
this is true because most people come here with the mindset on graduating and not really paying attention to the drama or distractions that held them back at their other schools plus u get more individual attention which some students need because these schools are smaller
i think every high school or shcool in general should be reconsider making their schools better
I Was Around The Wrong Type Of Crowd & Also Couldn’t Sit In Most Of My Classrooms Because Of Certain Teachers & Their Attitude
i stopped at this part of the video because i witnessed a counselor i my old highschool speaking on what we do get us in that type of situations and other reasons why other students do to get where they are at
i can relate because im in pulse because of the people i chose to surround myself with not because of academic problems
it was always because of who i surrounded myself with because i was always on top of my grades
i stopped here beauase its really crazy how so many students feel like alternative schools are better. its crazy because it just shows how some high schools really arent being there for students
I Decided On My Own To Leave Evander, I Seen I Was Slacking & Realize That All That Fun I Was Having Was Going To Mean NOTHING If I Don’t Graduate. I Didn’t Know About Credit Recovery Schools Into I Reacted Out To My Guidance Counselor On My Own & Asked Her For Help. If It Wasn’t For That Great Move I Would Of Still Been Doing Bad & Not In Pulse High School
For example the girl that was pregnant and went to school throughout the 8 months of her pregnancy she didn’t receive no credit after she gave birth because she didn’t the finish the classes but still went for most of the time.
Alternative schools are a good thing because it gives students more time for individual attention since the schools are smaller and it allows them to be in a different environment that might work for them to succeed
i can also relate to this because that was me at some point trying to get out of highschool wasnt getting the credits i deserve , busting my ass and not being able to get the credit makes us very angry and doubt ourself as if we wont ever get to that level where we can accomplish something for ourselves
.
this is important because you get to see how alternative schools can be more fitting for someone then a regular main stream school
i like this videos because i can relate to all the student and the issues they deal with cause i once was dealing with the same issues
that we all went through
this video just showed me how coming to an alternative school was the best decision i made
I can relate to this video because i have been in the same situation where i had to change my school to be able to graduate on time. And i feel that anybody can do it, being able to graduate, that’s the best thing anyone could ever ask for.
