(Apr 25 2017 12:17PM):
when a person is talking to audiasnce the audiance get like signs in their brain that lets them make a connection with what the speaker is talking about so
(Apr 25 2017 4:06PM):
your brain can be put together by the way people think or speak speakers can make you think of things and change the way you belive things
(Apr 25 2017 4:10PM):
ideas are the most important things a speaker needs. when you speak you should give your self one idea so everything you say can go back to it and you need to give your linsers a reasons to care
(Apr 25 2017 4:25PM):
#1. To focus on one thing is great. Ideas are complex as he said so it can be interpreted in many ways. It wouldn't be complicated for people to see the vision you want. #2. Give them something to care about is big. Make it something they can relate to.
[Edited]more
#3. Making it familiar. Make them question themselves about what you’re asking them as you create a real picture.
#4. To make it worth sharing. Have a base understanding with whom you’ve presented for. Make them believe in what you think is the best idea ever. if so, they will share your story.
(Apr 27 2017 11:54AM):
4 main steps to a good presentation
more
1. Focus on one major topic/Idea so you can focus on one thing to explain it better
2. Give listeners a reason to care by making them wonder like putting a puzzle together.
3. Talking about things that’s related to your topic by using language to get into there minds.
4.Make your idea worth sharing
To become a great speaker is to transfer into a listener’s mind. For whatever your topic is you need to make sure you speak in a way the resonates with everyone.
(Apr 29 2017 1:10PM):
The most important part is the idea then give the reason why should the audience care and the idea have to be realizable and serious at the same time
[Edited]
(May 02 2017 12:27PM):
Throughout the whole processes it makes me wonder how they for the same idea. What if the person did not have a good tone? Would it have the same effect?
(May 02 2017 12:42PM):
In order to really bring similar thoughts to others, you have to know that what your top is, is not for your own benefit but influence the thoughts of others to either change their view of the world or perhaps just make their day better.
(May 04 2017 1:22PM):
In step one, I think the idea that one idea that he is talking about is also talking about the thesis. Just like he said the rest of your conversation links back to that one ide just like your thesis.
(May 04 2017 1:27PM):
For the second step, I agree that your audience has to actually care about the idea you're trying to convey. If you have an idea that your audience doesn't care about they will not listen. Give a reason to why your idea matters and why they should care.
(May 04 2017 1:39PM):
I believe the fourth step is kind of the same as the second step. I think you have to present an idea people know you're doing it for someone or a group of people.
more
You have to get people to care. You have to let people know why this idea matter.
(May 08 2017 12:09PM):
A part that stuck out to me was where he said that if your idea doesn't benefit someone else, but only serves you, then it probably isn't worth sharing.
(May 19 2017 12:54PM):
To connect with your audience, you have to present your topic in a way the audience can engage. I feel like you have to know that there will be audience that won't be too interested in the topic being presented, so give them a reason to do so.
(May 19 2017 1:02PM):
I think presenting will only be easy for you if you actually know your topic. The nervousness will then start to die down and then your pacing will be easy to follow for the audience. Then the audience can actually connect to what you are saying.
(May 24 2017 1:04PM):
You build an idea in the minds of your audience that is the most important thing for a ted talk for your audience to give in to what you are trying to say.
(May 30 2017 7:56PM):
This is sooooo true . It's how the mind works . When seeing a cute fuzzy animal we pet it and say "awww" but when seeing a vicious animal, us humans are hesitant to come anywhere near it.
(May 31 2017 3:17AM):
What stuck with me in this video what the man said "Ideas are the most powerful force shaping human culture" This is true because one man can change how we think. One person can make movements so powerful it can change our world.
(May 31 2017 10:33PM):
In the beginning of the video ted says that some people may think there is aformula to talking. In a way I agree because I struggle with talking and I believe that there is a formula or some trick to talking.
(May 31 2017 10:36PM):
As a speaker, you have to connect with the listeners with your mind. The ideas in your mind contradict what you say. So its important to think while you speak because your thoughts is what makes your tone and your infection of your words.
(May 31 2017 10:38PM):
As you speak focus on one thing at a time. You do not want to move on to the ext topic or part of your speech without going into context with what you are saying. You want them to believe everything you say.
(Jun 01 2017 1:22PM):
there is billions of inter connected neurons and there is some linked to each other creating a single idea. I think that’s cool because its creating the same thing in very one else brain while they are listening.
(Apr 25 2017 11:50AM):
I also agree that transferring an idea to your audience is key in a presentation because that's the purpose of a presentation, to share a message to the audience and make them think about what the information you say.
(Apr 25 2017 12:01PM):
I also think ideas should also be connected to reality because everyone's world views may be different, which may change the way certain people feel, or react toward different ideas.
(Apr 25 2017 12:01PM):
So All I have to do great in public speaking is have an idea and try my best to make others connect to my idea. I think I can do that with no problem.
(Apr 25 2017 12:05PM):
Ideas change how people see the world, and can also shape people's actions now and in the future. I think ideas are very powerful because they are like first impressions; people start judgements based on what they see and hear.
(Apr 25 2017 12:07PM):
I like this talk, Chris Anderson really explained what to do and how do to do it well. I will use these tips in my prep for my senior project oral presentation.
(Apr 25 2017 12:15PM):

[Edited]more
ask them questions and get them interested in what are you talking about make them want to find out what your try to say. if you get them interested they will be hook on you the whole time speaking.
(Apr 25 2017 12:39PM):
To give an oral presentation, it is better to connect with the audience so that they can better understand what you are trying to say. Something to keep in mind for my senior presentation.
(Apr 25 2017 12:40PM):
When your about to give a pep talk or presentation so many things are going through you head just be reliable and punctual.
[Edited]
(Apr 25 2017 12:44PM):
When you say your job as a speaker is to transfer into your listener mind. What if all people do not know how to do that ,like do not know how to transfer over?
(Apr 25 2017 12:46PM):
Giving an oral presentation is like giving an idea. With that idea, you put it in the audience mind and they will tend to agree to disagree with it. I believe it is kind of true. The audience will place it in their minds & see any relations.
(Apr 25 2017 12:47PM):
I totally agree that if we have a idea that we really care about and is narrowed down to a simple point, it'll make things easier on you the presenter and it will make you remember what you are talking about if you really care for the situation as you
more
(Apr 25 2017 12:49PM):
i can tell how all the people giving oral presentations in the video are nervous but it is good that they are brave enough to present in front of so many people.
(Apr 25 2017 12:49PM):
There are one thing that all good speakers have that connect and make them good speakers. Its an idea that connects and draws the attention of the speaker.
(Apr 25 2017 12:50PM):
With these ideas being presented, it gives the audience another point of view. The audience may or may not have known anything about the presented idea, so that will give them a whole nother insight of something different. That is one of the key points.
one of his perspective of how chris anderson say how a person can share a idea worth spreading is by putting a picture in the person’s head who you is sharing the idea with
(Apr 25 2017 12:54PM):
If when we are to present we need to be prepared with an idea, something that we can portray to the audience in a creative feel.
(Apr 25 2017 12:54PM):
i agree with him when he say that when u have everythings connected you going to connected people mind and everythings you say they agree with you
[Edited]
(Apr 25 2017 12:54PM):
I agree with him because there's people that think different about how people look, but until they talk to them their minds change
(Apr 25 2017 12:56PM):
So the ideas that is made in your brain can transfer to someone else brain which is basically like your imagination getting put into somebody else's head making it y'all imagination now
(Apr 25 2017 12:56PM):
Chris Anderson says, "the task as a speaker to transfer into your audience mind is an extraordinary gift called an idea." This can relate to me because I will be ensure that I will state a clear idea in my presentation.
[Edited]
(Apr 25 2017 12:57PM):
You should make your audience curious to where they would want to hear more of what your talking about in your speach. TO keep them stirred up and want to actually hear more.
(Apr 25 2017 12:57PM):
When you say a pattern of neurons are being teleported in people mind as they are listening is that a like a scientific method or is that just you guys opinion
[Edited]
(Apr 25 2017 12:58PM):
I agree that creativity is key for incoming students. I personally learn more through hands on activities or any creative process needed to learn a topic.
(Apr 25 2017 1:00PM):
I can relate to this because as soon as anyone is up there they freeze because knowing that their people looking at them, it gets tricky to put what we think out there. Public speaking is one of the most adrenaline feelings because everyone is scared.
(Apr 25 2017 1:01PM):
Key point number 2, for my topic is important. We need present to the audience in a way they would care for what is being said. Be thorough with the presentation with only having one main idea.
(Apr 25 2017 1:02PM):
The 3 main methods will help me give any oral presentation. I like the way he explain what an idea is and how it should be developed.
another perspective chris anderson have on sharing ideas that is worth sharing is that people get the same pattern in they head at the same time as the person who is giving out the idea
(Apr 25 2017 1:04PM):
Developing an idea and always sticking with the main topic could be difficult to stick with because I run out of reasons to support my idea. So Ted's secret was very helpful to focus and support how we can manage/laborate an idea, which is by connecting.
(Apr 25 2017 1:15PM):
So that's why great leaders and activist such as Martin Luther King had so many followers and supporter because he knew his crowd and the ideas he had he knew how to explain them to any crowd that he spoke in front of and they loved his ideas
(Apr 25 2017 2:32PM):
everyone gets terrified but as soon as she gets her ideas and opinion, everyone starts thinking the same or in a similar way as you when you are presenting.
(Apr 25 2017 2:35PM):
The speaker have an idea in their mind and it makes them come out of what they think and connect with the audience to make them think as you do.
(Apr 25 2017 2:39PM):
TED have a brainstorm on what they should talk and how they have a effects contact and intro like a writing before they start talking.
I agree that creativity is important in the education system because that’s how certain individuals work the mind to learn things and helps to navigate the word.
(Apr 25 2017 2:40PM):
Its interesting because I do notice that on a lot of the ted talk, they bring up an interesting subject that would peak my curiosity. However how do I peak someone curiosity when they hear about the topic a million times?
(Apr 25 2017 2:42PM):
Great public speaking requires someone who does know their audience. Someone who can shape how someone thinks and using the vocabulary the audience would be able to understand.
(Apr 25 2017 4:06PM):
I agree with him when he said that in order to have a successful presentation you must have your brain in sync with the audience in order for them to understand your idea.
(Apr 25 2017 4:10PM):
I think that this is amazing that our brain is very complex to be able to hear and see an idea and form such amazing things that help us shape our view of the world.
[Edited]
(Apr 25 2017 4:10PM):
Basically how every good speaker puts a new idea in your mind .I feel as though this is really true because speeches help you think from a different perspective
(Apr 25 2017 4:16PM):
what she is saying is very accurate the first thing we see about someone is what we forever think about them in the back of there head
(Apr 25 2017 4:17PM):
there are million of people out there who are react differen, that why idea really mother, that how someone think of the world, idea are things that you really passion about.
(Apr 25 2017 4:18PM):
The main objective of a presentation is to change the perspective of whoever is listening. So while brains are scattering and then connecting,it creates one mesh of knowledge.
there is billions of inter connected neurons and there is some linked to each other creating a single idea. I think that’s cool because its creating the same thing in very one else brain while they are listening.
(Apr 26 2017 1:42PM):
The speaker is trying to get their audience to get an idea of what they are saying, to sync their minds and get their point of views straight
(Apr 26 2017 1:47PM):
By what people say, they get the feeling that they are also the same as when they describe something to them, like if they see a kitten they'd want to pet it. It's like having them experience what the speaker is describing and agreeing

People have different points of views when looking at the same thing, and speakers try to get others to see their point of view and giving them ideas that they normally wouldn't even think about

Kinda felt like this was a video to help seniors with their senior project presentations, but I think it's very helpful about what he's saying

Chris stated that " Idea’s really matter because if communicated properly there capable of changing forever how someone thinks about the world." I agree with this because I experienced an example that changed my life. Nas had a song called “If I ruled the world” and from than on I felt them empowered that if I did really rule the world what impact can I have on it. This was an idea that was transferred to me.
(Apr 26 2017 2:11PM):
Chris states that when you are speaking to your audience you want them to be engaged. One thing you can do to engage your audience is to make them curious about a topic. One way you can make your audience curious is by asking them a question.
Something that really caught my attention from the video is that there is no established formula to give a good speech. There is no proper way to give a speech because the point is to transmits one’s idea to others people’s mind, make them see what you see.
Ideas are what make our world our world. “Our world” is composed of many different ideas, but in the long run those ideas are all connected to each other. These ideas give us our own perspective on what we believe in or in other words give the structure to our world.
I think two major keys , which was the use of language and to get on a even ground with the audience, from the four Chris Anderson presented are the most important. Language is important because you never really know the level of understanding your audience has. So you always have to understand your audience first. The second point which was get on an even ground with the audience is also important because how can you start implanting your idea in someone else’s mind if you don’t understand the audience. To achieve this it is always important to use metaphors to give the audience a better understanding of your idea.
As our job as speakers is to go into our listeners brain and give them an idea. I see this as we need to really believe that we are correct and be ready for any possible questions that can make you seem like you aren’t the correct answer.
1. focus on one major idea
-give contex
-share examples
-everything you say links back in someway
2.give a reasons to care
-curiosity
3. build your idea with concept people already understand
-teach with their language= what they understand/knows is different than you
4.make idea worth sharing
-who does this idea benefit
(Apr 24 2018 2:40PM):
The idea of forming the idea
more
Everyone thinks differently so even if you try to form an idea in their head, their ideas won’t exactly be the same as yours or anyone else. Well that’s unless you explain every little piece of detail.
(Apr 24 2018 2:40PM):
Typically, the audience will naturally want to piece together your concepts with concepts they already know about and relate them to each other
more
You want to make your audience curious about what you are talking about.
(Apr 24 2018 2:41PM):
When you are publicly speaking you must really think about the audience and how what you say will change their day or future positively.
(Apr 24 2018 2:42PM):
create one major idea in your mind that you focus on the entire time. Give example and paint a picture in the head of your audience of those examples so they can connect the examples back with your main idea.
more
(Apr 24 2018 2:43PM):
I am really surprised it was not try and make the audience laugh now and then. I believe that if the audience is serious through the whole talk there will be a slight bore.
What he said about making your audience engaged with questions is really important. The questions can be things that can make them sad or just to keep them engaged
(Apr 24 2018 2:48PM):
Always keep eyes to the audience because in that way the audience will know that you are not nervous and that can low your grade. and always have a good body language, be professional.
Like Haley, make your audience have the same emotions, thought process, and energy as you. I think that’s part of the beginning of your presentation, because that’s what’s going to make them have the first thought of you or your topic.
(Apr 24 2018 2:52PM):
Present something that will capture the attention of the audience. In the beginning tell them something that will keep them thinking about your presentation (hook) and keep eye contact.
(Apr 24 2018 2:54PM):
Be interested about your topic and not show the judges that you are just doing this because you were forced to. show them that this is a big issue and build your presentation, make it your own.
