Angel Calixto (May 06 2019 1:39PM) : Progress & change more

I believe this video right here is a good example of how America can change and progress if we became more accepting of each other, instead of trying to deny each other. Even though the change was a little bumpy at first the change was more accepted, and soon “it became second nature,” as Ms. Rice explains.

profile_photo
May 29
Brianna Trujillo (May 29 2019 11:39AM) : Change more

This video is an example of how life progressed over the year, even though it was a little bumpy down the road. The change was still accepted and everything soon became ¨second nature.¨

profile_photo
May 13
Student Ikaika Butler (May 13 2019 12:58PM) : In the video it shares how we change and we progress, and become accepting of it to where it becomes the norm. It talks about the "we" as a standard this means a certain people, not all people. Change makes anew, progress creates the norm. [Edited]

Student Ikaika Butler (May 13 2019 1:08PM) : I think that as time has changed it has become more standard to use a hyphenated stature. I feel this is so people know who you are and where you came from. You are not only American, but also your ethnicity, which both define who you are.

Angel Calixto (May 06 2019 1:49PM) : "Twoness" more

I think it’s completely baffling that the hyphenation has changed from something that was less socially acceptable, to now being a more socially acceptable thing that people should be proud of. To be seen once as denying the American culture is now a symbol of American pride, as a symbol of unity and acceptance that America was meant to be.

profile_photo
May 29
Brianna Trujillo (May 29 2019 11:47AM) : Twoness more

I believe that being an American means navigating the conflict between one´s personal religion, ethnicity, and their American Identity. He believes that Americans can build bridges across differences by reconciling their personal heritage with their American identity.
