Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy come together from remarkably different backgrounds, life experiences and points of view to explore the idea of a unifying American creed. Their spirited inquiry frames the stories of a range of citizen-activists striving to realize their own visions of America’s promise across deep divides.
American Creed launches as a nationally televised PBS Special, and as a feature documentary on PBS.org, on Feb. 27, 2018. The date marks the beginning of a robust public engagement campaign including community conversations, classroom activities and local storytelling in cities and towns across the country — all designed to foster a bold national conversation about American ideals and identity.

There are some incredible ways we can all put our different races or ethnicity to a side and get together. For an example a way we can come together is over a sport.
i agree!
I agree putting race to the side could help many of us come together. Being able to live without having to be defined by your skin color is the hallmark of privileges!
I agree that education is valuable and does change everything.
I love the fact that you agree with me on how education is important, not all people agree!!
i agree, education has a big mark in America
Our Achievements and goals can really change our lives and make our communities stronger.
I agree about how we should give back to our community. Thats really important
If we keep trying to reach our goals and giving back to our communities then that will help all of us stride for a better America, and unify us.
I agree, there is something that needs to be fixed with our political system, it isn’t fair at all.
no matter where they came from they all come to succeed in America.
America provides a lot of freedom for us and equal opportunities.
race is the least important thing people need to see we are all the same
It’s always inspiring to see first-gen college students, because not many families in the minority are able to attend, or afford, college. It gives us a push that anything is possible in America as long as we try.
I believe that to be American to be willing to come together as a whole.
So when it’s time to apply to schools, students that attend these schools don’t have much to show that they are students with a spectrum of skills.
I believe this video right here is a good example of how America can change and progress if we became more accepting of each other, instead of trying to deny each other. Even though the change was a little bumpy at first the change was more accepted, and soon “it became second nature,” as Ms. Rice explains.
This video is an example of how life progressed over the year, even though it was a little bumpy down the road. The change was still accepted and everything soon became ¨second nature.¨
I agree! This video is a great example of how we all need each other in some ways. Being united in America is important, not only to the people you associate, but the people who have the same mind set as you too.

that is brave surviving with no money and knowing no english
I couldnt agree more, its a crazy idea surviving. It shows that we are strong!
coming to america as a foreign person without knowing anyone or speaking english and nothing to rely on shows the need of how bad people wanted to come to america and change their lifestyle
It progressed only to regress
A lot of people have different expectations and aren´t accepting of them, everyone is different.
it took time for others to get use to there being new people around
A lot of children follow up their parents who are in the military or army ect to help the country
every vote matters
everyone is different
there wasnt many advantages back then as there is now
Logging in, please wait...
