I do think incorporating pop culture icons into this makes sense – and indeed shows the reality of this incident, this event, actually happening in real life.

I passed over this scene and think there is more to this than I first thought.

I see the switch to Spanish and not switching to language earlier in the graphic novel as a means of showing what happens when you truly have to internalize another culture, and not from a distance. Does this make sense?

Disney, an symbol for everything being “perfect” (we see that is not the case in this story – does have stereotypes in their films on how certain roles act, etc -

I am sure, I see them in New York as well – and can you imagine the grandfather doing this on his own? I can’t, LOL.

Their relationship is magnified even more with this police incident that occurred, it appears for sure in this slide and we realize the separation now has been more public, I think there was a separation there before – just not so evident as the son was growing up, but the grandfather caused much more of that than the son.

I always had this issue with Celcius to in Mexico but again, think a point made about the U.S. not learning more than one way of looking at things!
