student Aryanah Williams(Oct 13 2021 6:07AM):
I also think she did a good job demonstrating how things should be done while still making eye contact to the audience.
Logan McCormick(Oct 13 2021 6:10AM):
I feel like she's done a fine job, I liked how she informed us on the dangers to look out for when jumpstarting the car.
Grace Szczerba(Oct 13 2021 6:11AM):
I liked the way she explained what’s important and why we should know this information. A lot of the time things may seem like we don’t really need to know them or someone else can do it for us but she explained why we should know this information.
Amyah Griffin(Oct 13 2021 6:15AM):
It was very helpful that she did this, I understood what was going on way easier because of how she explained every step.
Amyah Griffin(Oct 13 2021 6:14AM):
I like how she had great props that were big enough for the audience to see so that we can understand what she was doing.
Professor Jessica Gleason(Aug 23 2021 4:16PM):
You do not need to start a speech with "Hello my name is..." In fact, it would be better to start with a strong attention grabber. She gets there, but not right away.
Emily Monosa(Oct 13 2021 6:04AM):
I think it is important that she told us where we can buy them and how much they are. With this information, we can go buy a set if we don't already have one.
Alayna Smith(Oct 13 2021 6:06AM):
I very much agree with this. It makes it a lot easier for the person to have a good idea if they can afford it. Or where to get it if they really need one
Paige Phillips(Oct 13 2021 6:01AM):
I appreciate how she discloses the purchasing information of the products, as some audience might not know for sure themselves.
Kimberly McGuinness(Oct 13 2021 6:03AM):
I agree, I think this was a great thing to share as well as some may not have that information. Very thoughtful.
Alana Taylor(Oct 13 2021 6:05AM):
I like how she mentions the information from the automotive repair company. Definitely adds to the credibility of her speech!
Alayna Smith(Oct 13 2021 6:07AM):
I was thinking the same thing.I liked how she used something so simple that made her speech look more complex. It was simple enough for the audience to follow along
Paige Phillips(Oct 13 2021 6:09AM):
Yes! I think creating your own visual aids as a sort of craft can really help the audience better appreciate and enjoy the speech while listening.
Grace Szczerba(Oct 13 2021 6:09AM):
I agree i think it’s good to get creative when it comes to things you can’t directly replicate such as how to jumpstart a car.
Emily Monosa(Oct 13 2021 6:06AM):
By sharing this fact about the length of the jumper cables, it may help us with our purchase of the size of the jumper cables. Additionally, this shows that she is well informed about her topic.
Sariyah Corbitt(Oct 13 2021 6:11AM):
I like how she exampled what type of cables is best for the jump start process and why those cables are the best to use.
Paige Phillips(Oct 13 2021 6:05AM):
I really like how she takes pauses throughout the speech, saying things like, "That's important," making sure the audience takes a second to realize that. I think that is a great step in actually informing and not only showing.
Alayna Smith(Oct 13 2021 6:10AM):
I really liked how she had a really good flow when she talked. She didn't talk too fast and she paused when it was needed
Spencer Schick(Oct 13 2021 6:04AM):
I like how she references the book "How to jump start your car for dummies". I think this is a good approach because it gives the audience a recommendation of a book to look into if they have more questions.
Kimberly McGuinness(Oct 13 2021 6:09AM):
I agree. Giving the audience additional resources such as she did allows people to gather more info should they feel they want to expand on what they just learned in a quick demo tutorial.
Emily Monosa(Oct 13 2021 6:08AM):
She mentions sources she got her information from to help back up her knowledge and make her speech more professional.
Alana Taylor(Oct 13 2021 6:07AM):
I believe that she is pretty knowledgeable on this topic. I like how she has her notes to read but is still able to maintain eye contact with the audience.
Viviana Garcia(Oct 13 2021 6:08AM):
I like how she mentioned to make sure your car is even able to be jumps started. I did not know that some cars couldn't be jumpstarted, so this information was very useful to me.
Kimberly McGuinness(Oct 13 2021 6:07AM):
I feel like she could have added in the importance of why you need to connect that last cable to something metal. That bit of info could be helpful to some.
Viviana Garcia(Oct 13 2021 6:11AM):
I like how she stated in which specific order to take off the cables. I didn't know they should be taken off in a specific order, so this is very useful information.
Spencer Schick(Oct 13 2021 6:08AM):
I like the idea of giving a handout to the audience to take home with them in case they ever encounter this problem. That is a smart tactic to use to have engagement with the audience after the speech.
Viviana Garcia(Oct 13 2021 6:12AM):
I agree! I don't think I could remember all of these specific steps, so having a handout would be really useful in case a situation like this ever happens to me.
