Guidelines/Success Criteria Provided:
Students needs to work on analyzing text and watch the video links on the star spangled banner, which will help them infer its meaning. Students will be able to share their anthem from their country, with their team, and create a new anthem with their group.
Students had to use skill A.5 making inference and draw conclusions from evidence.

General Description of the Task:
The objective of the task was for students to gain a better understanding of the Holocaust through real diaries of young people who lived during the time period.
The lesson interacts with history today through the universal theme of separation.
Connections of student diversity through the themes of hardship and separation helps to synergize and create acceptance, tolerance, and understanding.

CER Short Response- Students were asked to use a school-wide protocol, using the CER strategy, to complete a response based on a short story they read and analyzed as a whole class.

General Description of the Task:
-Students read chapters 2 and 3 of the text “The Giver” and were required to write a summary about the chapters using the “Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then” strategy.

General Description of the Task:
Students explored how to find the distance between 2 ordered pairs by using the depths of knowledge. Students then worked in groups to apply the knowledge they learned.
